Fast Forward

Okay – you’ve guessed it! That’s not me in the above photo! Surprised? I didn’t think you would be. It’s just that it was difficult finding an image of a wheelchair in motion. You mean to say I had you fooled for a moment 😁? No? I’ll retract that then!

It’s now only three days since I got home from being in hospital. I’m still absolutely exhausted and rather sore (only to be expected). What I want to say is that I’m running as fast as I can to catch up with all (or at least some) of your posts that I’ve missed while I was away from home. I’m not succeeding very well so far. My concentration is shot to pieces, and I currently have the attention span of a gnat. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic and know this is only a temporary blip. I’ll soon be back on form and communicating with everyone a bit more efficiently. Don’t expect miracles too soon, though.

So, that’s where I’m at right now. Please, bear with me a little longer till I get my oomph back. I’m managing to read one of two of your posts but can’t get my brain enough in gear to comment. I feel like I’ve got a head full of rice pudding. Don’t ask me to expand on that thought further.

In the meantime, thank you all for your kind comments and for caring about me. I do love my WordPress family. Have a great rest of the day (unless it’s the middle of the night where you are). Love to you all. Ellie xx πŸ’–πŸ₯°πŸ’ž

Writing my memoirs, musings, a little fiction and a lot of poetry as a way of exploring and making the most of my life ... ... Having had a break from writing my blog for more than three years, I decided to return to write my memoirs, some day-to-day observations, views and feelings. My passion is non-fiction poetry. I have a disability and use an electric powerchair called Alfie and let nothing get in the way of living life to the full. I believe that you can never do a kindness too soon and should give credit where credit is due. A smile or a kind word could make the difference between a good or bad day for a person - we never know what's going on for another soul. Those little things, perhaps, practised daily like a mantra, could mean so much to someone else. Thank you for visiting my blog and reading a little more about me. Please, make yourself at home here. You are very welcome. Ellie x 😊

  1. Keep smiling Ellie πŸ™‚
I understand your situation, and I want you to relax and take proper rest. You need not to worry and you say this to your wp family, and family members understand this.
You are also a crucial member of my wp family (my wp family is different than yours, haha).
    Thank you for everything.
Keep smiling and yes here it is night, almost 9pm when I write this

    1. Thanks, my friend. I will get lots of rest (haven’t got the energy to do much else right now πŸ˜‰). Thank you for making me feel so loved. Yes, I’ll keep smiling (I don’t look pretty when I frown πŸ˜‚!) Night night xx 😊

  2. I’m so glad you’re home for the hospital, Ellie! We care very deeply about you. So, take care of yourself and get plenty of rest and food. And remember, you’re stronger than you know, smarter than you think, and more beautiful than you realize! Sending lots of love, hugs, and warm thoughts your way! πŸ’–πŸŒΊπŸŒžπŸŒ·πŸŒ»πŸ¦‹

    1. I’m sorry I haven’t replied to your comment sooner, Cherie. I’m just trying, not very successfully, to catch up with replying to a few comments, although I’ve had hardly a chance to read others’ posts. Thanks so much for your love and good wishes. Unfortunately, I’ve now got an infection in my wound and it’s very sore, as you can imagine. Still, I’m on antibiotics for a week, so will, hopefully, heal before too long. Thanks so much again. 1. You’re most welcome, Ellie. And I completely understand about your delayed reply- you’ve been sick and when you’re sick, sometimes you just can’t. Here’s hoping and praying your infection clears up and take care of yourself, sweetie even if you must take time away. We’ll be here when you return. πŸ’–πŸŒΊπŸŒ·πŸ€—πŸ˜Š

    1. Thanks, Stacey. I don’t have a lot of choice at the moment. – going slow is my only option while I’m still tired and sore. I’ll heal quickly enough, I expect. I just to learn to be more patient. X

    1. Hi there. I’m having to leave you a message here because I can’t seem to post a comment on your blog and recent post for some weird reason. I’ve tried three times but with no luck. It just says, ‘comment could not be posted.’ I’ve not come across this issue before. I did look for a contact form or email address on your blog to let you know what was happening but couldn’t find that either. I really enjoyed your post too, and wanted to tell you that. Perhaps, you could look into it and get back to me when you have time. Thanks so much. Ellie x

      1. Oh thank you. That’s really strange, but I have actually been having issues posting on a few blogs. Though not as bad as you. I keep having to relog in. Very strange. I will check. Thank you so much for your perseverance!

          1. OK, I tried changing a couple of things. It’s very strange, normally the first time someone comments it goes to pending and then I have to allow it. But nothing was pending.
Maybe something I did now fixed it?

          2. If it doesn’t work again, let me know and tell me which post you tried to comment on. Maybe something is clicked off on that particular post.

            1. Yay! Whatever you did, it worked, and I was able to post my comment this morning. It says, it’s waiting for approval which I know all blogs say that if it’s the first time a reader has left a comment. Thanks for fixing the problem x 😊

              1. I’m not quite sure which thing fixed it, but I’m so glad it worked. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. And thank you so much for your perseverance.

  3. aw ‘ love you too , Dear Ellie , rest up!!! Slow and steady… Many blessings – the world can wait , you are a trooper for even attempting … Many blessing to youπŸ’™πŸ€—πŸ˜ŠπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

    1. Thanks so much, dear Krissy. Thank you being so understanding. I replied to you on the post before this one just to explain that, unfortunately, I have an infection in my wound so am really rather sore. Not to worry, though; I’ll heal quickly enough. Just having to take things easy still. Blessings to you also Xx πŸ’–πŸ€—πŸ’™πŸ₯°πŸ’šπŸŒΉπŸ’›πŸ’–πŸ’œπŸ’

  4. Be optimistic everything will okay after little later. Take proper rest and care you will be fine. We all love you πŸ’•πŸ’•

    1. Aww – thank you so much for your kind comment, Priti, and for dropping by my blog. You are very welcome here and I will do my best to come over to your blog too later on. Much love to you also xx πŸ’–β£πŸ’

    1. Thank you for your very kind comment. I’m sure I will be on the mend soon. Thank you so much for dropping by my blog too. It’s much-appreciated x 😘

    1. Thank you, Ann. I’m beginning to feel a fair bit better now, and I’m very grateful for that. This second lot of antibiotics are doing the trick. I’ll soon be back to good health again. Take care x

  5. Ellie, concentrate. Concentrate on you. Miss a few posts. It’s natural, my sweet. Or you’ll be overwhelmed. Take it easy my sweet. Concentrate on you.

    1. Thanks, Selma. You are quite right. Even when I’m well, I try to do far too much at once. I’m great at suggesting a friend slow down a bit or take more time for herself, but when it comes to me, I don’t know when to stop or when enough is enough. Not a very good quality to have in oneself, really. Que sa ra sa ra xx πŸ’–
