If you read my last post, Decluttering the Clutter – Stage 1, you’ll know what I’ve been involved with recently.
Yesterday, I was just so ridiculously run off my feet that I barely had time to read any of my blogging buddies’ posts, so I’m way, way behind. I think I only managed to comment on one post. My world is distracting me immensely, which I’m finding extremely frustrating. I’m rarely so busy that I hardly have time to think, let alone read anything. I have an excellent book called The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak on loan from the library, and I haven’t even had time to get past the introduction.
This morning, just to cap it all, my email account has crashed! Just what I need! This means I’m not getting any notifications of new posts. However, I do know that when I last looked (yesterday evening), I had the sum total of 47 emails sitting there, all screaming out for attention. I’m getting some blogs through the WordPress Reader, but there are just too many to catch up with. I’d intended to deal with them all today, but it’s obviously not to be.
I don’t know when my email account will be up and running again, so please bear with me if I seem not to notice your posts. I doubt I’ll catch up with all of them even once Yahoo has sorted out the problem. I’m unsure if it’s all of Yahoo or just my account that’s malfunctioning. I have a more than a sneaking suspicion that it’s me who’s malfunctioning!
So … to all my lovely readers, friends and blogging buddies, you may notice I’m not present on your blog for the time being, but rest assured, I will be back before too long. Happy blogging in the meantime.
Maybe this is your blogging break in disguise.
I received an email about your latest blog and here am I.
Good thing for you is you have one less post to read as I haven’t shared anything recently.
Please take care and keep smiling.
You could be right, Devang. Perhaps, it’s Yahoo’s way of telling me to slow down a bit. With a bit of luck, I’ll be back in working order in time for your next post. I noticed you were missing this week. I hope you’re okay.
I’m definitely running behind with a blog for my site. But, I’m not far behind from Blogging. I have written a blog for certain site and they will take few days to publish it. Then, I will write a blog to tell people about that blog. I also have a unwritten blog in my draft since last 2 weeks. Plus, few more blogs in my mind. 😅
I hope you are fine. Please take care
I’m glad to hear you’re okay and have written a post for another blog. I’m looking forward to reading it when you post about it on your own blog. It’s good that you have lots of ideas. It’s just finding the time to write and publish them, isn’t it? Take care, too 🌞
I have some time and blogs are ready in my mind. But, my blog got delayed due to certain site. I’m still waiting for them. I hope they publish it.
Meanwhile, I’m thinking to write a blog tomorrow, because it’s been a while anyway. Best wishes ⭐
Restart your computer.
Restart your outlook.
Then hold thumbs.
Thanks, Granny. I did try all that. I’m still sitting here holding thumbs, though. I think I might be in for a long wait. Xx
It’s a bummer when technology goes erratic on us. It’s the norm of our times: the heat is to blame, methinks.
Don’t worry about a thing, dear Ellie. Not a one! Let it run its course.
I’m sitting here contemplating taking a break for the summer. Lethargy break.
So please try not to miss me too much, dear one. Perhaps I could input more by way of reading instead of output. I think I should.
Anyway, don’t sweat the small stuff. (It’s all small stuff)
Happy summer. I wish you miracles. Lots! Xoxo 💃🏼 💃🏼
Oh, thank you so much, dear Selma, for your lovely and very kind comment. My email is back up and running, but today, my wheelchair got two punctures, so you could say the week has been eventful, to say the least! Well, I guess that’s a good story for my next post, later perhaps.
When are you planning to take your summer break? I hope you can do some nice things and relax during that time. I will miss you, of course, but it’ll be good to know that you’ll hopefully have some ‘you’ time. I’m not doing anything special this summer. I should take a ‘leaf out of your book’ as I’ve got a really good book I’ve now started and would like to finish before too long as I have to return it back to the library in a couple of weeks. Love to you, dear friend xxx 🌞🌹💐💙🌼🌻💖
Well, full of surprises, this life is. Let’s not make them stunt us. All the best, dear lovely lady. Stay sweet. sending you good vibes.
Ellie, I’m just blogging about vacation. You’re not missing anything remotely important here. I’m really stingy with my follows for this exact reason. I freak out when I have too much to read. Still, with my limited number of followed accounts, sometimes *everyone* posts at once and I get overwhelmed. Here, I’ll synopsize my last post… Big trees, Wow, (cute photo). I hope things settle down for you quickly. Peace.
Thanks for the synopsis, Jeff. It’s appreciated. I will have to take a leaf out of your book and do some gentle unfollowing. I follow far more blogs than I have followers, and it’s been wearing me down a bit lately. Apart from the Yahoo glitch, it’s actually been a welcome relief to have a day away from reading blogs. I’m back online now, and my emails total 72 at last count! There’s no way I’ll ever get through all those! I will have to be ruthless and delete all the earlier ones. Perhaps, I’ll start again, refreshed, tomorrow. Or perhaps, not because I’ve got to go out in the morning and the afternoon, so that’s put paid to that idea. Oh, well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation. Try not to stay well. I wish peace for you, too, Jeff. Ellie
Argh, stupid emails crashing! It’s sod’s law – once you’re feeling stressed and behind, instead of being able to get on top of the things you need to do, a bunch of new problems will arise instead. I now have 1,014 new emails in my personal inbox that I can’t get through, let alone other inboxes. I even had a few pretty snide emails on my blog account because I’ve not got around to replying to things for a while. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It gets suffocating because it’s impossible to keep up and I hate thinking others like you are feeling similar. Too much to do, not enough time or physical wellness to do it.
As for catching up on blogs, it’s a double-edged sword isn’t it? We love the blogging community and reading some awesome posts, but there’s a pressure to keep up with it that isn’t healthy or realistic. It goes from enjoyment to stress pretty quickly.
Do NOT apologise for not getting round to reading other blogs. I know I’m a total hypocrite because I say it a lot but hey, it’s easier to tell someone else to what not to do 😉 You are a GEM in the blogging world for all you do in reading and commenting and supporting other bloggers, myself included. We all appreciate that. You have a lot on your plate and you don’t need any extra stress or pressure. We’ll all still be here whenever you want to read a blog post or publish one of your own.
Focus on the home stuff, sod the emails (unless it’s bills, best to pay those 😂) and find time to look after yourself. That’s an order. Everything will be okay 💜
Caz xxxx
I’m sorry I haven’t replied to your kind message earlier, Caz. I had a very eventful day yesterday, which I blogged about when I finally got home. Because of that, I had to waste most of the day waiting to be rescued, so now, I’m even more behind with my emails. They now number 108!! And they keep growing every time I check. I’ll never get through that lot. I know just how you feel about having so many in your inbox, too. It gets too much sometimes, doesn’t it? I just want to shut my eyes and hope they all go away. And I had every intention of catching up with as many blogs and emails as possible yesterday, but it wasn’t to be. I feel like I just want to delete all the mail and start over again fresh.
As you say, I love reading other peoples’ blogs – I follow some really cool ones which I genuinely enjoy. I should prioritise all those with whom we have a give-and-take ‘relationship’ like you and me.
That’s dreadful that you’ve had nasty emails on your blog account. Do these people think they own you!? I really feel for you as that’s so unnecessary and unfair. I’m sorry you’ve experienced that. It’s awful.
All the furniture for what will be my son and grandchildren’s room arrived this afternoon. I’m now surrounded by large cardboard boxes all waiting to be opened, the flat-packs built into a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a bedside cabinet etc. My DIY man, Mick, will, hopefully, be able to start on them sometime in the coming week. Fingers crossed. I’ll be so glad to get straight again, but it won’t be for some time yet. Sorry, I’ve been gabbling on about my stuff. How are you doing today? Love Ellie xxxx 💖❣💞
Don’t worry I’m sure everyone would understand,
And on the bright side you get to read your book 😄
Hope it was interesting and you enjoyed it 😉👍
Thanks very much, Butterfly. It’s a really good book. I usually have trouble with concentration but this book just captures me. Xx 🌞
That’s the magic of good books😉👍
Hope you finish it soon…lemme know how it goes🤠✌️
I will do. It takes me ages to finish a book, though, so don’t hold your breath 😁 Xx 🌞
😂😂😂 I’ll try😉
Someone does not want you to write your encouraging blogs we enjoy reading. Did you shut down the computer for at least ten minutes? Did you reset your internet modem?
Yes, I tried everything. I think it must have been a glitch at Yahoo’s end as it just came back later in the evening. By then, I was way behind all my reading of other people’s blogs. I’m still trying to catch up with everyone even now. It’s nearly my bedtime here, so I’ll get some sleep and hopefully, wake refreshed in the morning and eager to do some more reading. Sending you love, Tangie xx 💕
Yahoo’s been challenging for me recently, too. One more strike and it’s out – will have to change emails.
Ah, so it wasn’t a personal vendetta from Yahoo against me, then! It’s so infuriating when it does that, isn’t it? What with one day with no emails and the next day stranded in town with no wheels, I’m now way, way behind catching up with my blog emails. No sooner do I reply to one or two, then a whole lot more land in my inbox. I’m not sure whether to delete the lot and start afresh or just battle through. It’s very wearing but I don’t want to seem like I’m ignoring anyone. How’s your Yahoo mail today, Sam. Hope you’re doing better than I am xx 🌞
I definitely understand the need to try and read/reply to all. Been there, done that. However, sometimes there just isn’t enough time and I find that the people who I want to know know that I’m not just ignoring them. That there’s stuff going on and I will be back when I can. You’ve just got to start afresh sometimes.
Mail acting suspicious but at this point I’m kind of used to it.
Slept like a log last night, so I’m powered for the day. Hope yours turns around! Stay golden!
You’re quite right – I like your attitude. I think a lot of my insecurity is from lack of confidence. I do like the idea of starting afresh.
It was the first time I’ve come across any issues with Yahoo. Maybe, I’ve just been lucky up till now. It seems alright today, though. Glad you slept well last night, too. I’ve been waking up at the crack of dawn and then, unable to get back to sleep – most annoying as it leaves me shattered the following day. Perhaps, it would help if I wasn’t messing about on my blessed phone before I fall asleep 🙄. X 🌞
I don’t use my phone much, so no issues with it before bed. It’s the computer that I can’t seem to drop until the last minute.
Ah, I do that too. I just transfer from my laptop to my phone as I go from the living room to my bedroom! I’m not a good example and is it any wonder that I can’t sleep 😂. Xx 🌞
I know we’ve talked about this before, but it’s definitely important to take breaks from blogging now and again. And, of course, no one is obliged to read all of the posts by bloggers they are following!
You’re quite right, of course, Mick. I do love writing; it’s just keeping up with reading blogs I find a bit stressful. It only takes a day of being out of the loop and I’m miles behind again. I’m sure other bloggers understand but I think I often expect too much of myself. I could choose to take a break from it all but I think it’s become a bit of an addiction. It doesn’t help that I have a somewhat addictive personality. One of these days I’ll learn to take it easy! 🌞
I’m sure everyone else understands. At least, I hope they do, since I do it all the time!
