Ouch. Whenever I see that someone has publicised their email address for all and sundry to see, I always feel obliged to point out that I believe that to be a mistake. You’ve addressed this to ‘friends and fellow bloggers’, but spammers are on the rise; they are always keen to add to their lists of valid email addresses, and they recruit bot crawlers to scour the web looking for more.
I would strongly suggest, at the very least, using a simple obfuscation method (perhaps something like “your [dot] name [at] domain [dot] com”) instead, or, better still, stripping out that personal data entirely and using a contact form instead – see this page on WordPress.com support, and/or give me a shout if you need a hand setting that up (it’s really quite easy).
Thank you very much for pointing this out. Although I use a separate email address for my blog, I would be very grateful to you for any tips you have on doing this, as I’m not entirely clear on it. I will look at the WP support link when I get back from being out to see if I can fathom it out. If not, I’ll definitely call on you for some assistance. Thanks again.

Hi PeNdantry. Just to say thanks for the advice you left me on this page. As you should now be able to see, I’ve altered my contact details and now have a contact form as you suggested. Thanks again for pointing this out.
